The snap ring and shim hold the sleeve in place with no play. | |
Before it all goes back together, there's one more piece to add: this little roller bearing. It's easy to forget, so I labeled it with a big piece of tape when I removed it. | |
It's small, and it's easy to lose. | |
It goes on the end of the input shaft that fits into the freewheel hub. | |
Here's the bearing in place on the tip of the shaft. | |
This is the freewheel hub. The input shaft fits into the splined hole in the center. | |
With all the pieces installed, it's time to put together the front and rear halves of the case. I've put Hylomar HPF sealant on the flanges. | |
Now all we have to do is bolt together the two halves of the case. |
